2015/2016 Trek 7.5 FX

Fast and comfortable—you get the best of both worlds with Trek's 7.5 FX! Its hydroformed aluminum frame provides an efficient, comfortable ride, while the Bontrager carbon fork is super light and damps road vibration for velvety smoothness. The wonderful ride continues with Bontrager's light wheels and flat-resistant Race Hard-Case tires, which are equally at home on roads, paths, and trails. Plus, the 20-speed, wide-ranging drivetrain gives you the right gears for any hill at any pace, and the linear-pull brakes offer complete control.

Love the bike but 4 broken spokes in 3 months

    Comments:

I like to ride fast but really dislike the down position of drop handle bars, so this bike is terrific. Really like the wide hand grips. Very comfortable and easy on the hands, even without gloves. Have broken 4 spokes in three months. The shop fixed the first two free of charge, gave me a new wheel when the third spoke broke, and now the new wheel has a broken spoke, all at no charge under the warrenty. Now the shop is trying to get me an upgraded wheel under the warrenty. I hope this all works out. For whatever it is worth, I am 6'1" and weigh about 195 lbs. I ride about 100 miles a week, year around. I had a 7.3 that I rode for several years and put well over 20,000 miles on it. I really like this bike a lot and will be a walking advertisement for Trek if we can get the dependability issues resolved.

      Comments:

I really like this bike but have to be careful navigating hills. I've taken the bike for a drive/shifting tune-up as I've taken a couple of face plants into the handlebars when pumping up a challenging hill. The chain slips, and well, there you have it. Other than that, I love the bike!

This bike didn't really motivate me to ride it. Honestly the bike is fine but it does nothing bad, nothing brilliant. I sold it at a loss and bought a 2015 Giant Comax 1. I'm happy now and look forward to riding.

After 7 months & 750 miles I continue to ride at every opportunity (short 7 mi. To 40 mi trips). My requirements: lightweight, hybrid bike, easy on the back, firm but comfortable saddle. Easy to pedal on flats & rolling hills, able to add rear rack for extra gear. My test ride confirmed my expectations. I love the fast, smooth gear shifting and gear indicators on handlebar. Super Isobar grips.. It's An Awesome Bike!

        Comments:

I use the 7.5FX for recreation and fitness. Carbon forks and isozone handlebars soak up the road vibrations. The close gear ratios make shifting a breeze. It's light weight makes it easy to haul up & down apartment stairs or in the pickup. Way more easier than my old chrome moly framed hardtail mt bike. Honestly, have not found anything that is not great. May be the honeymoon isn't over yet.

        Comments:

I am a roadie. Sold the mountain bike as the fat tires never saw dirt, the bike was heavy and spongy with the front suspension. Wanted a bike without the fat tires and suspension to commute to work and go on pleasure rides with my wife without dragging out the carbon fiber road machine. Although I am a big Trek fan, I rode a number of hybrid bikes just for comparison sake and fell in love with this 7.5 FX. The 7.5 gives you the best of all worlds. It is light weight, has carbon fiber fork, high quality components and a comfy seat. Took it out for a 20 mile ride to break it in and I was surprised at the road bike characteristics. I hit 40mph downhill with a tailwind so it definitely satisfied the speed demon in me. I am extremely happy with the bike and look forward to many miles! GO BUY ONE!

        Comments:

I got on this bike in March and now ride more than 100 miles per week including a 26-mile commute to work some days and a long weekend ride (40 to 60 miles). The 7.5Fx has been a strong and durable bike every mile along the way. When I bring it into The Bike Lane, the service has been outstanding! They have advised on everything from getting a better seat to what to eat on a ride. It's almost like they are there with my on every ride. Just completed my first Metric Century on the 7.5FX without any mechanical issues! Trek + The Bike Lane + You = Fitness for Life!

        Comments:

I bought the Trek 7.5 FX after a friend suggested it as a replacement for my old Trek 700. The 7.5 FX is a great bike. Lightweight, with quick, smooth shifting and gearing between the traditional hybrid and a road bike. The Bontrager H2 seat is great! I tried three seats on the 700 before I found one that wasn't good but was acceptable. I have had absolutely no discomfort from this seat including after a recent 55 mile ride. I did not find any of the issues others mentioned about the brakes. I gave them quite a workout on very hilly section of a trail in Minnesota where they stopped the bike quickly with no unusual noise. My average speed is up about 2 mph. It is easy to maintain a comfortable 17 – 18 mph on the flats with two more gears to go. The 7.5 FX will never match a road bike for overall speed but it will make a respectable showing.Make sure you also purchase the spacer (Part #414162) if you opt for the SpeedTrap fork mounted sensor or the magnet will be too far away from the sensor. [...]All I can say is buy this bike!
